'Every Woman Carries with Her the Seeds of Hysteria'

Throughout history, hysteria has always been subjective and perceived as a female disease, that results in conflicts with 'acceptable' female functionality. In my series of images, I aim to represent, explore and mock the causes and hysteric results of a breakdown in the sterotypical expectations of female behaviour, through the idea of the perfect 'housewife'. The title is taken from the French physician Auguste Fabre who write in 1882 '...all women are hysterical, and every woman carries with her the seeds of hysteria...'
